How to use your Gi and go for the Kimura to get your opponent to submit. Grant O and Steve Cantwell take you step by step in this instructional video.

Start from side control. The first step as your opponent turns into you, is to grab their elbow, which will be right in front of you. Take your one arm under their armpit and secure it at the elbow. The other arm is going to grab the Gi, which is going to be pulled over their wrist and trap their arm. Transfer the Gi into your hand that is under the elbow.

Next step is to secure the wrist with your free hand then grab your wrist pulling straight up lifting and turning their arm.  Steve points out to make sure you have your opponents arm high enough above their body, before you start to turn their arm, setting in the Kimura.
