Self-Sustaining Homes require a well and a well pump. Where is the water derived from when you’re off-grid? A well pump takes the water to the Water Treatment Station so the water can be stored and pressurized before going to RO.
You’ve learned about all of the components involved in Electrical Power Generation including the Wind Generator System, the Solar Generator System, the Generator and the Power Station, but what about Water? Self-Sustaining Homes aren’t provided with city water so it is necessary to have a well for water production.
The well is located 600 feet below the surface and it’s necessary to have a well pump to pump the water up through a pipe so that it can be used. The water pump takes the water through the pipe to the Water Treatment Station so that it can be stored and pressurized. There are many heavy metal contaminants as well as microorganisms that are in the water that will make you sick so it is necessary to treat the water first before it can be used in the kitchen and before you can ingest it. A Reverse Osmosis System will purify the water before it leaves the tap.
